Particularly during winter months, the Vanguard Way can be muddy in places and is liable to flooding beside the River Cuckmere and in low lying coastal areas.  And, the coastal stretch from Cuckmere Haven to Newhaven Harbour Station can be affected by high winds.

Please remember that train and bus services can often change at short notice, so you should check on-line or by phone before travelling if you are relying on a particular bus or train.  Similarly, pubs and cafes may change their name or close with little notice.
If you have a particular question or comment on the route description or information about pub closures email
